Senior Associate Solicitor
Katy qualified in 2015, having passed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course with Distinctions whilst working as a paralegal and then as a trainee solicitor. She has developed her commercial and technical knowledge working at regional law firms Napthens and Forbes before joining CG Professional in May 2020 as a Senior Associate Solicitor.
Katy advises on all day-to-day aspects of the employment life cycle to businesses ranging from SMEs to PLCs. She is very focused on developing relationships with her clients and getting to know their businesses, their objectives and the challenges they face, in order to provide commercial and pragmatic advice and solutions. Katy’s focus is always on achieving her clients’ desired outcomes and she frequently receives positive feedback from her clients in relation to the commercial advice she has provided.
Katy regularly advises clients on large-scale projects including restructures and redundancies, variations to terms and conditions, TUPE transfers and outsourcing arrangements. She enjoys working as part of the team on corporate transactions and has extensive experience of advising management teams and business owners on disposals, mergers and acquisitions.
Katy also assists clients with employee exits, the ACAS Early Conciliation process and Employment Tribunal claims.
Katy enjoys the technical aspects of employment law and is experienced in delivering bespoke training to her clients to equip them with the knowledge required to effectively deal with HR issues while minimising risk to the business, as well as speaking at events to deliver updates to the business community.
